The 11th season of Formula Drift has officially started! The Streets of Long Beach plays host to the first round of the drifting series and welcomed us today with clear skies and cool winds.
Please enjoy some of the highlight photos from earlier today in Long Beach.
The Gush getting in some runs before qualifying. For qualifying this season, they brought back the best out of two run format to put less pressure on the drivers in case they score zero in one.
Joon Maeng being a little too ambitious during practice. Driver was okay and that’s the important part.
Forest Wang in his 2JZ-powered S14 looking confidence.
Dai Yoshihara and his new car for the 2014 season. A turbocharged V8-powered BRZ will help lead the charge to another title for the veteran drifter.
The Enkei Top 32 practice was exciting because we saw cars drift in tandem to get the drivers a little more prepared for tomorrows battles.
Fans were treated with an awesome autograph session with all the drivers. The beautiful umbrella girls were an added bonus.
Ken Gushi not feeling too bad after the qualifying session.
The Norwegian Hammer Fredrick Aasbo gets a personalized hammer from a big fan. He was so excited he had to share a photo of it to his fans.
