Scion FR-S’ Hit Streets of Willow with Takashi Oi | Willow Springs Raceway

If things at Willow Springs International Raceway couldn’t be busier with Super Street Magazine’s FF Battle 4, Import Tuner Magazine’s FR Shoot Out, and a Raceline USA track day, it did during the lunch break. During the one hour break where most competitors got to refuel themselves and let their cars take a short break, a collection of Scion FR-S’ got their shot at being taken for a tour around Streets of Willow with professional driver and journalist from Japan Takashi Oi. As track enthusiasts, we were very excited to see how these brand new cars would do on a local track with a professional driver behind the wheel. Check out some of the highlights we got of the Scion FR-S’ in action on the track!

The aero from Five:AD works so well with the curves and design of the car.

Our boy Young’s FR-S was in the mix as well at Streets of Willow.

Last, but definitely not least, in line for Oi-San to pilot was the car was inspired the FR-S. This AE86 had a Levin front-end and simply looked amazing.

The FR-S’ queuing up for a warm up lap, hot lap, and cool down lap with Takashi Oi taking notes as he drives each one to compare difference in parts and suspension.

This FR-S was competing in the Import Tuner Magazine FR Shoot Out and was actually the first FR-S sold that we happened to photograph at Longo Scion a few months ago.

There are still lots of photos that needs to get blogged about, like all the coverage we got from FF Battle 4, the FR Shoot Out, and also Honda Tuning Magazines’ R Challenge, so check back with us often. We also share a lot of photos on our Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/jdmzipties), so don’t forget to check that out as well!
